This fall, there will be a big change in where fans can get their college scores.
Spikemark Golf is the new provider of all golf ranking and scoring services used by the NCAA. This will begin with the 2023-24 seasons. Spikemark will take over the role that Golfstat previously played.
Joni Comstock said, “We’re pleased to announce Spikemark is the manager of NCAA golf scoring and rankings services” in a press release. Spikemark’s use of modern technology, such as the implementation of a ranking system that is transparent and updated daily, will allow for a statistical approach widely accepted by the golfing community. This will improve the experience of our members and championships.
The collegiate community would like to thank Golfstat, and in particular the late Mark Laesch as well as the Laesch Family for their dedication and many years of partnership with collegiate golf.
Spikemark was created by Derek Freeman and is a former college player and coach. It will feature a mobile app and redesigned website that will meet the demands of collegiate golfers at all levels. Spikemark offers tournament scoring, leaderboards in real time, detailed statistics and analytics, and media to allow fans to follow their favorite teams and athletes. Spikemark provides access to the most recent results, team schedules and rankings in real time.
Spikemark’s ranking system was created in collaboration with Mark Broadie. Broadie is well-known for developing the Official World Golf Ranking and a modern statistical approach based on “Strokes Gained”. Broadie has also been a member of the USGA handicap research team for 20 years.
Spikemark is incredibly honored and excited to be joining the NCAA as the new golf ranking and scoring provider.
