UST Mamiya’s recoil iron shafts have been very successful in the last few years. We spotted the newest version at the 2023 HomeTown Lenders Championship, on the Korn Ferry Tour.
Recoil DART is the newest model of the Recoil line. It comes in 95-gram and 100-gram heavier weights. The shafts used to be available in 65 and 75 grams (61-78 gram weights). These heavier shafts are designed for players who have high club speeds (more than 105 mph when using the driver), and want to benefit from graphite irons. UST Mamiya DART (Dual Action Recoil Technology), according to the firm, reinforces critical hoop section of the shaft in order to optimize ball speed and accuracy.
The shaft diameter also flexes during the swing. The tip section is reinforced to increase stability and straighter shots. It also maintains the solid feeling of the shaft.
