BELLEAIR (Florida) — Stacy Lewis has left the possibility of becoming a captain in 2023 open. She was prepared in the event that she would automatically qualify. The captaincy duties ultimately took their toll on her game. Let’s just say that once she got to Spain, and played in the Solheim Cup, it’s unlikely this will happen in 2024.
Lewis said, “I’ve been to Spain and I can tell you that it was a great experience.” “I don’t believe you can captain the team and play,” said Lewis.
Lewis went on to describe for The Annika reporters what her typical day at Finca Cortesin looked like. She noted that only one day in the week she sat at a table for lunch. Megan Francella was her cart driver and she would constantly give her a half-peanut butter sandwich.
Lewis wanted to be the captain of the group, because in the past she had enjoyed it when the captains would do that.
She said, “Because morning matches end and there’s only about 20-30 minutes until the next match starts.” Then, you finish the match in the evening. You have an hour to put the pairings together and then you need to do the media. When you return to the stadium the team is already in bed.
You meet with the team, it’s around 9 or 9:30 pm, and you say, “Oh, I can eat my dinner now.”
Lewis split the team up on practice days so that everyone could play whenever they wanted. Some players started early, while others teed off at noon. Lewis had a long day, but the players were able to play at their own pace.
She reiterated, “There’s no way you can captain and play.”
Lewis arrived at The Annika after a four week home break, her longest in a long time. After five consecutive missed cut, she appreciated the two weeks of time to work on her game.
Lewis was 83rd in the CME Group Tour Championship points list when the week began. He is unlikely to make the CME Group Tour Championship next week. The former No. The former No.
