Rose Zhang, a Stanford sophomore, has had a record-breaking Wednesday.
The number of weeks that the top amateur golfer in the world spent at No. 1 is 136. The World Amateur Golf Ranking has ranked her as the No. 1 golfer for 136 weeks. She added two more awards to her collection by the end of the day.
Zhang, who shot 12-under-204 at Papago Golf Course near Phoenix to equal the lowest score ever in the history of the championship, won the Pac-12 Championship. She had previously recorded the lowest 36-hole score of 9 under.
Stanford’s third golfer in the program’s history to win a Conference title. Zhang beat Arizona State’s Beth Coulter by seven shots.
Zhang now has 10 college wins, breaking the tie with Andrea Lee as most ever by a Stanford female golfer. Zhang has six wins in eight starts so far this season. Her other finishes are a T-12 and a 5th.

Zhang, who won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur earlier this month, has now achieved the highest title in her career.
Stanford placed third as a team with 7 under. They were one shot behind Oregon, and nine shots behind the champion USC. Arizona finished fourth with 1 over, and Arizona State came in fifth place at 7 over. This is USC’s 9th conference title.
Stanford is the NCAA team champion. Zhang is the individual NCAA champion. The Cardinal are still one of the favorites for the Grayhawk Regionals next month.
