Statement issued by the PGA Tour following Bubba Watson’s claim for pay-for-play

The injured 43-year old has not been able to play a single ball on the Greg Norman-led tour, but he has been a captain non-playing for the Niblicks GC Team and was always expected to get a reply from his pay-masters.

Officials from the PGA Tour have issued a statement refuting claims that they had paid players to simply turn up at any event.

Their most recent statement is:


“We are aware that tournament sponsors might contract with players to do a sponsor-related activity during tournament weeks for which they receive no compensation.


This is allowed under our guidelines.
