You get bigger and better.
This is the theme of the 2023 PGA Tour Champions schedule. It features the return of an outgoing stop as well as the first event held in Coachella Valley since 1993.
However, the headliner is another record amount in prize money. There will be $66,000,000 up for grabs at 28 events in 2023 — 25 during the regular season, and three tournaments that make the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs. This is an increase of $4 million over the 2022 season.
Miller Brady, president of PGA Tour Champions said that the future and stability for PGA Tour Champions was now more secure because of the support of title sponsors and tournaments. “We are delighted to have the largest purses in PGA Tour Champions’ history and to be able bring the game to the many amazing venues on this Tour.
The 2023 schedule will feature tournaments in 20 US states and three other countries.
The Galleri Classic will be held at Rancho Mirage’s Mission Hills Country Club in California. Mission Hills hosted an LPGA major in 2022.
The Champions tour will now be played in the desert of southern California. It was last seen in 1993, when the Gulfstream Aerospace Invitational was won by Raymond Floyd.
Five majors will again be held. The schedule for May includes the first two majors, which are back-to-back events with a week off between. They will have a week off between the two remaining events.
