The Walker Cup is dominated by the United States.
Red, White and Blue overcame a three-point disadvantage on Sunday and won the biennial bash, defeating Great Britain and Ireland, by 14 1/2-11 1/2, claiming the Cup for a forth consecutive event.
Each team has ten players and the four sessions on Saturday and Sunday are Foursomes and singles. Four teams of 2 compete on both days in Foursomes, and eight players compete on Saturday in Singles. On Sunday, all ten players compete in Singles.
Vanderbilt junior Gordon Sargent was the top amateur in the world and led the way for the United States. He went 4-0-0 on the Old Course of St. Andrews over two days. Sargent was the only one of the 20 players to go unbeaten in the week’s competition. He also earned three of four possible points.
The 2023 Walker Cup will be held at the Old Course in St. Andrews. Here is how each player did over the weekend.
