BLAINE (Minn.) — Lee Hodges takes care of the business.
Hodges is the sole leader after 36 holes of the 3M Open, at TPC Twin City. He has a four shot lead over Tyler Duncan, and will be the last tee-time on Saturday. Hodges shot a 63 on Thursday, his second best round in his career. He then followed it up with a 7-under-64 on Friday to extend his lead. He hasn’t had a bogey in the first two rounds.
He finished the round with seven birdies, no bogeys and just before darkness forced the suspension of the second round. Hodges almost made an eagle putting on the 18th hole after the horn was sounded. However, he tapped-in for birdie and secured his lead.
When the game ended, all the leaders were in their clubhouse.
Hodges hasn’t had a win or runner-up in his second Tour season. He will try to change this at the weekend.
Duncan, meanwhile, shot a 4-under-67 with no bogeys to take sole second place after the second round. He hasn’t made a single bogey in 36 holes. He was 113th on the FedEx Cup standings going into this week and needed to put in a strong performance.
