The PGA Tour is now on the mainland, in La Quinta California, for The American Express, a PGA West event.
The third event in 2024 will feature a field that is loaded with world-class players, including the No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Tom Kim, Sam Burns, Tony Finau and Jason Day.
Scheffler is the betting favorite with +550. He tied for 11th place at PGA West in last season’s tournament and has just come off a T-5 finish at The Sentry.
The defending champion Jon Rahm won’t be in the field because of his recent move to LIV Golf.
The first three rounds will take place on the Pete Dye Stadium Course. Nicklaus Tournament Course, La Quinta Country Club and La Quinta Country Club.
