The Corales Puntacana Championship is a strong start for this PGA Tour Pro, who won the 2018 Corales Puntacana Championship.

Brice Garnett sees this week as a vacation, not a tournament.

He couldn’t be at Puntacana Club & Resort. The resort is surrounded by delicious food. The Corales Golf Course offers beautiful views. It’s a trip down to Dominican Republic where Garnett won his 2018 PGA Tour victory.

It’s so simple. Garnett stated that it feels like a simple week. It’s how I approach weeks in the United States. I have had some success playing island golf.

It’s difficult to argue against Garnett’s case after a 6-under-66 opening round in gusty conditions. After the Corales Puntacana Championship’s opening round, Garnett was tied with Ben Martin for the lead. Matt Wallace was one shot ahead of Garnett.

Garnett was still in contention at the Honda Classic a month ago, just before he shot a final 77 at PGA National. He shot 77 again in the Puerto Rico Open’s final round a week later.

He said, “Just waiting and patiently wishing that we can get all the four days together here soon.” “So keep your head down and grind on. It will all come together in the end, we know that.”

Martin joined Garnett after a flawless performance. Martin has also won one PGA Tour event, the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in 2014.
