The 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic field is full of some of the best players in the world, given its position on the PGA Tour’s schedule.
The weekend before the 4th of July, two weeks after the U.S. Open, which was held in Los Angeles, and one week after the Travelers Championship in Cromwell Connecticut, it’s possible that a trip to Detroit wasn’t on players minds. Detroit Golf Club will host a number of top names, including Tony Finau, the defending champion.
Finau’s second win in a row came in Detroit, last year. Since then, he has also won two more times, at the Cadence Bank Houston Open, and the Mexico Open, at Vidanta. Finau won last year by five shots over Cameron Young and Patrick Cantlay.
Finau will be joined by a number of other golfers at Detroit Golf Club, including Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas.
