DORAL, Fla. – After two days match play, 2023 LIV Golf Team Championship will return to stroke play.
Only four teams remain in the final round of the 50 million dollar season finale. Twelve teams have made their way to Trump National Doral Blue Monster course. Sort of.
The 12 teams will all be playing on Sunday, but only four of them – Crushers GC, RangeGoats GC, and Torque GC, will compete for the top prize.
“You still have to play golf.” Johnson said that the switch to stroke play was similar to match play. “Obviously, you can’t pick up a bad shot like you could in match play,” he explained. You have to be solid and all four players must play well to win. Tomorrow, it will take a team effort. It’s great. “There are four teams, and we’re all battling it out for the trophy.”
Cleeks GC will compete for the 5-8th place, while Iron Heads GC Majesticks GC Ripper GC Smash GC will compete for the 9-12th places.
DeChambeau said about the Crushers, “It is a great opportunity for us.” Last year, we were pretty disappointed. This year it’s a completely different story. “We’ve got a few guys who are playing better golf, and I’m also playing better.”
“Hopefully, I can do it tomorrow and give us a chance to win.” “We’ve been preparing for this all year,” said he. It’s only 18 holes. “Anything can happen and we have a great team. We just need to prove it tomorrow.”
All 48 players play 18 holes in shotgun start stroke play (1:05 pm ET). All 48 players will play 18 holes of shotgun start (1:05 p.m. ET) stroke-play, with each score counting towards the team’s final score. You can watch the match from 1-6 pm. ET on CW, or stream it on the CW App or LIV Golf App.
