Scottie Scheffler won the PGA Tour Player Of The Year award in 2022. The award will be given out in January due to the FedEx Cup Fall Series which has extended the eligibility for both the PGA Tour Player of the Year and PGA Tour Rookie Award.
Scheffler was one of five finalists in the Jack Nicklaus award, which is given to the best player on the circuit.
He wants to be the first to win the award back-to-back since Tiger Woods, who won it three consecutive times from 2005-2007. Fred Couples, Nick Price and the first winner in 1990 were the only two to win the award twice in a single year.
The PGA Tour Player Directors and the members of the Player Advisory Council, PAC, have finalized the Player of the year for 2022-23.
The PGA Tour will vote for Player of the year and Rookie Of the Year among members of the tour who have played at least 15 FedExCup official events in the current season. Voting will end at 5 pm on Friday, December 15. ET.
The first event in the 2024 calendar season will be The Sentry on January 1st.
