AUGUSTA (Ga.) — Augusta National Golf Club is home to the annual Masters Tournament. It has strict patron policies.
These policies have changed over time. Here are the Masters’ 2023 guidelines patrons should follow.
Anybody who violates these policies will be removed from the grounds and permanently denied access to the premises (tickets).
Cameras, cell phones and electronic devices
According to the Masters’ website, cell phones, tablets, laptops, and other electronic devices that can transmit photos or videos are prohibited at all times.
On Tournament days (Thursday through Sunday), cameras are strictly forbidden. However, they are allowed to be used on practice rounds (Monday through Tuesday) as well as at the Wednesday Par 3 Contest.

Electronic watches and fitness trackers are allowed. These devices are not permitted for use in phone calls, emails, or text messaging.
Anybody who violates this policy will be removed from the grounds and permanently denied access to the tickets.
Items that are prohibited
Bags, backpacks, and purses that are larger than 10’Wx10’Hx12’D in their natural state
All types of knives and weapons, regardless of permits
Cameras (Cameras can only be used on Practice Rounds Days – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for still photography, personal use, or both)
Radios, TVs and other noise-producing devices
Chairs/seats that have pointed ends, folding armchairs or rigid-type chairs
Signs, banners, and flags
Strollers
Get food, drinks and coolers
Metal spikes on golf shoes
Perscopes, ladders, and selfie sticks
Running is not allowed
The grounds are strictly forbidden for running. Patrons should make a plan in advance about where they want to go and how to get there.
Buyers and ticket sellers beware
Anyone found selling, buying or giving away tickets within the Augusta National’s 2,700-foot boundary could be charged with misdemeanors or given a ride in a cop car.
Limit on the number of gates per ticket
In 2017, a Masters policy was implemented that restricts the number of ticket entries or badges per ticket.
Patrons can only have two gates entries per day. Additional entries are not permitted.
This policy is applicable to the Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship final rounds, Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals, all practices rounds, and all tournament days.

Food and beverages
Concessions may be purchased with cash, or one of the following credit cards: Visa MasterCard, American Express, American Express, Discover.
- Sandwiches: $1.50 – $3
- Soda/Iced Tea: $2
- Beer: $5 domestic, $5 import (Not available after 4 p.m.
- Coffee: $1.50
Souvenirs
All patrons are allowed to purchase souvenirs at stands on the grounds. These include a main merchandise building located near the main concessions area, near the first fairway. You can purchase merchandise with cash, credit cards, or personal checks.

- Bag towels starting at $18
- T-shirts starting at $29.50
- Polo shirts starting at $75
- Balls – $44 per dozen, $11 per sleeve for three

Autographs
According to The Masters’ website, autograph-seeking is not permitted in the areas surrounding the Tournament Practice Area or on the Par 3 course during The Masters’ Par 3 Contest.

The golf course has a strict “no autographs” policy to protect and ensure player safety.
Patron photos
Patrons can have a free photo taken at Founders Circle on any day.
Services for the Physically Handicapped
According to The Masters’ website, facilities are available for the physically handicapped. It is recommended that wheelchair-bound individuals and others using similar transport use flat observation areas and hard surfaces as much as possible to ensure safety.
The Masters Tournament has established a Personal Mobility Vehicle Policy to ensure the safety of patrons as well as users of mobility vehicles. Remember: Anyone accompanying an individual with a disability must have the proper credentials.
Items to consider
- Sun protection: Wearing a visor or hat is recommended. Make sure to apply sunscreen.
- Binoculars: Great for observing action from afar.
- Comfortable shoes are recommended: Augusta National is a hilly golf course. The ground can be slippery in the morning and after rains.
Accepted payment methods
According to The Masters’ website, all facilities at Augusta National Golf Club can be paid in cash. Only credit card and debit cards are accepted for payment at concession stands, merchandise shops, and shipping locations.
Find the lost and found
According to The Masters’ website, the lost and found station can be found inside the Check Stand Building at both the North and South Gates. The lost and found station is open daily from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Anyone who finds a lost item should notify the nearest security manager so that they can send it to Lost and Found.
Pets and animals
According to The Masters’ website, pets and animals are not allowed on the grounds.
Safety and health
According to The Masters’ website, COVID-19 testing is not necessary and you don’t need to cover your face for entry at 2023 Masters Tournament. Patrons will not need to show proof of vaccination.
According to the site, all attendees are asked to self-monitor their health and to stay home if they experience any symptoms of COVID-19. Handwashing is encouraged and stations for hand-sanitizing will be located throughout the grounds.
