Multiple sources claim that the Tour’s board meeting will approve the move. This is ahead of Monday’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. According to a source, the tournament will take place at El Cardonal in Diamante, the first course designed and built by Tiger Woods. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean, is a popular attraction at Cabo San Lucas, a timeshare community located at the tip on the Baja Peninsula.

It is unclear what role Woods will play at the WWTC event as the tournament host for the Genesis Invitational, Hero World Challenge and Hero World Challenge.

The World Wide Technologies Championship was previously played at El Camaleon Golf Club in Cancun, Mexico’s Riviera Maya. After 16 years of hosting a PGA Tour event , the course decided to change venues for LIV Golf, and will host the inaugural event of this new league’s second season.

Borja Escalada (CEO of RLH Properties, which owns Mayakoba resort) stated that he would love to host events with both circuits in order to help “build a link” between warring factions. However, one Tour tournament director stated that this is unlikely. A PGA Tour tournament director stated, “Build a bridge.” “More like they built a bridge with PGA Tour, who will be back?”
