The world of golf was taken by surprise and it is easy to understand why. The move that changed the landscape of professional sport was not the subject of rumors, reports, or whispers.

It sounds like players aren’t happy with the situation.

Todd Lewis, Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis, spoke to several players involved in last year’s BMW Championship players-only event — which was led by Tiger Woods & Rory McIlroy – held in Delaware.

Lewis wrote: “They feel betrayed, and manipulated.”

The players who left the Tour in search of huge paychecks, such as Dustin Johnson and Brooke Koepka, are now welcomed back with open arms, while Woods, McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick who turned down lucrative deals were all stabbed for their loyalty.

A meeting of players was held on Tuesday at 4 pm.
