CHERRY HILLS, Colo. – After a long and grueling day at Cherry Hills Country Club on Thursday, the U.S. The Amateur has (almost), been reduced to eight players vying for Havemeyer Trophy.
Cherry Hills began to show teeth, particularly during the Round 16 on Thursday afternoon. The greens started to brown out and the wind increased.
One semifinal match, however, is still tied going into the 19th hole on Friday morning. It had a stunning ending Thursday night.
The men’s amateur championship is the largest amateur golf tournament in the world.
The quarterfinal tee time on Friday was moved to the morning due to possible bad weather conditions in the afternoon. The first tee-time will be 10:30 a.m. ET.
