LOS ANGELES – After a grueling day at the Bel-Air Country Club on Thursday, only eight women remain in the running for the Robert Cox Trophy.
After the Round of 32 on Thursday morning, the winners returned to the course for the Round of 16 in the afternoon. Eight golfers were able to punch their tickets into the quarterfinals which start Friday.
There was no shortage in Los Angeles of stars, even though the top five finishers of the stroke play had already left by Thursday afternoon. A few of these stars advanced to the quarterfinals. There are also a former United States Golf Association winner, an Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion and an NCAA individual champion.
There are many others who are looking to make their breakthrough just down the street from Hollywood.
