SILVIS (Ill.) — The annual stop of the PGA Tour at the John Deere Classic is known for two things : first-time winning players and rising stars stepping up to the spotlight.
Seven players who were within four shots of winning on Tour had not yet won on Friday’s wet second round at TPC Deere Run. Two of the players are PGA Tour newcomers, while one is on a sponsor’s exemption. Few notable players missed the weekend’s cut. The leaderboard is topped by the player ranked highest in the field with 36 holes remaining.
