Top players on the PGA Tour U Standings continue to receive better benefits.
The PGA Tour announced on Monday that it would continue to update the criteria for its program . This will make incentives for the top collegiate men’s golfers even more attractive, including for the No. 1 finisher. The top finisher of the NCAA Championships this year will receive PGA Tour Status for the remainder of 2023-2024. They will also be subject to reshuffles with the DP World Tour Race to Dubai points list and the Korn Ferry Tour.
The player will not be required to attend Q-School to maintain his status. Ludvig Aberg of Texas Tech, who has won three events this year, including the Big 12 Championship and the PGA Tour U Standings, is currently the highest-ranked player with two more events to go.
PGA Tour Accelerated points for juniors will now grant a one-and – a-half year exemption to any player who meets the requirements. Also, Nos. Nos. 2-5 on the final PGA Tour University Ranking will be able accept unlimited PGA Tour Sponsor exemptions for 2023 and 2024.
Gordon Sargent, a Vanderbilt sophomore, is the closest to earning a Tour Card through Accelerated. He has 13 out of the 20 required points, and can surpass that threshold if he wins postseason awards.
Aberg would debut in the RBC Canadian Open, which takes place in June, if he were to maintain the top ranking.
