The highest-profile pair in U.S. The Amateur Four-Ball record is about to be surpassed.
The duo failed to qualify for the match play after finishing three shots below the 8-under threshold.
Romo and Morrison are in a good position to qualify for the 2023 U.S. Open. Amateur Fourball Championship at Kiawah Island Club, after a 4-under-67 at Cassique Golf Club on Saturday. However, a 1-under-70 on Sunday on the River Course was not enough.
Romo said, “It was fantastic” after his first USGA Championship experience. The USGA held an incredible tournament. It was a great experience. The setup of the course and the way the USGA goes about their process is just amazing. It was rewarding.”
This week was an excellent way to strengthen our friendship. Morrison added, “I think we became closer after this past week.” “Fourball is the perfect format for this.” I’m looking forward to doing more events with Tony.

Tony and Tommy first met in a golf course when the Morrisons relocated to Dallas-Fort Worth back in 2019. They immediately clicked and began playing golf. Over the years, the two athletes have come to appreciate their special relationship.
Morrison said, “I don’t know about Tony, but since we met I think we have gotten off to a great start and quickly became friends.” “I think the only difference in age is that I have to warm my body up a bit less than Tony.”
The 25-year gap between Romo (43) & Morrison (18) tied for the fourth biggest gap on the field.
Morrison will now head to Arizona for NCAA Div. The I Men’s Golf Championship begins this Friday at Grayhawk Golf Club Scottsdale. Romo, meanwhile, will return to his NFL game calling duties for CBS.
The U.S. The U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship was played for the first-time in 2015.
The playoff between ten teams for the two final spots in the match play was held on Monday morning. After the playoff, the first match play round will be played, followed by second and quarterfinal matches on May 23. The semifinal matches are scheduled for the morning of the 24th, with the final match to be played later in the afternoon. Sampsonyunhe and Aaron Du shared the stroke-play medalist honours with 2022 semifinalists Carter Loflin, and Wells Williams.
