The 30th Women’s World Amateur Team Championship is here.
The Emirates Golf Federation is hosting the 2023 World Amateur Team Championships. The women’s and men’s championships, originally scheduled to take place in Dubai, have been moved to Abu Dhabi. They will be held on the National Course of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
The order of play in the men’s and the women’s championships has been reversed. This is to avoid conflicts with other prestigious events. So, the men will finish the tournament this week, while the women close it out last week.
The event will take place in the Middle East for the first time. It dates back to 1964, when the women’s version was held. The event will also be the first to have a smaller scope, with only one golf course and just 36 teams. This was approved by the IGF at its 2018 biennial meeting.
