Are you ready to play some matchplay?
64 of the top 77 players in the world are heading to Austin Country Club for the final play of the WGC/Dell Technologies Match Play. Since 2016, Dell has hosted the Match Play at the famed Texas club. The Tour’s final event, it will feature a loaded field of players competing for a $20 million tournament record purse.
Here’s the format: 64 players are seeded into 16 groups. Each player in each group plays the other in matches that run from Wednesday to Friday. A win earns one point, and a tie earns half. The 16 winners of their groups will advance to the knockout stage. They will play in the Round 16 on Saturday morning and then the quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon.
