Tyler Watts, from Huntsville, Alabama posted a final-round score of two under 70. He shot five birdies to win the 51st Southern Junior Championship with a total of 9-under-207 at Baton Rouge Country Club, Louisiana. Watts won by five shots over his competitors.
Watts’ win was another incredible triumph for Watts who, just last week, became Alabama State Amateur history‘s youngest champion. The record was set by Gordon Sargent, a Vanderbilt student who is competing in the U.S. Open as an amateur.
Collins Trolio, of West Point in Mississippi, finished second overall with a score of four-under-212. Noah Kent from Naples, Florida and Liam Pasternak from Morristown, New Jersey both finished with a score of two-under-214. Kent won bronze after a scorecard-based playoff.

The Southern Junior Championship winner receives a medallion, his name engraved onto the Perry Adair trophy, a Calamity Jane Putter, an exemption to the Southern Amateur Championship in 2024, and exemptions into any future Southern Junior Championships where he may compete. He is also fully exempt from the American Junior Golf Association during the next 12 months.
