According to Emirates Golf Club reports, Patrick Reed hit Patrick Reed with a tee after McIlroy refused acknowledgment. McIlroy and Reed are both playing in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic this week.
Since Reed joined LIV Golf in June 2022, animosity has been growing between Reed and PGA Tour members. Reed, 32, has filed defamation lawsuits against a few golf media members.
Patrick Reed pitched a tee at Rory McIlroy. This may not seem like much but it is golf’s version a bench-clearing brawl.

According to Emirates Golf Club, Reed was standing near McIlroy in the intention to say hello. Rory, however, never acknowledged him.
The Independent shared the following: “Reed insisted that McIlroy be saluted, but after receiving no response, he gave in and walked off. But not before putting his hands in his pockets and throwing a tee at McIlroy in dismay.”
This is the second instance of tension between PGA Tour members, LIV golfers and PGA Tour members. There were also instances last year when LIV golfers received the cold shoulder at the BMW PGA at Wentworth.
