Kihei Akina, a junior from Utah who has just completed his first half of high school golf, has accomplished remarkably.
Akina, who led Lone Peak High School in winning its fifth consecutive Class 6A State title last spring was named by USA Today as the National Boys High School golfer of the year and featured on a recent national award show.

Akina is the younger sibling of Brigham Young University’s former golfer, who was ranked 24th on the Golfweek/Sagarin Boys Rankings.
Akina is starting to receive offers after she helped Lone Peak to break the scoring record for state tournaments with a pair of 64s. The team finished at TalonsCove Golf Club, Saratoga Springs with a score of 43 under par.
