Sea Trail Investments LLC acquired the Rees Jones golf course, Willard Byrd’s golf course, and the Dan Maples commercial property at Sea Trail in North Carolina, which is less than an hours drive from Myrtle Beach. This acquisition completes a long-term effort to revitalize this development.
Sea Trail Investments LLC is a partnership between Robert Hill, Donald Bean (co-owners) and Parker Smith (owner of Golf Trek), according to a press release.

Sea Trail Investments LLC works to revitalize Sea Trail by developing new residential, recreational, and commercial properties in the community. Sea Trail Investments purchased the Sea Trail Convention Center in March. The center had been vacant for many years. They also acquired a 15-acre tract of adjacent land and the Village Activity Center.
Sea Trail Investments, led by Riptide Builders, has improved the community in many ways, including the renovation of the Sea Trail Convention Center. The convention center will reopen in early Decembre.
Sea Trail Investments added a new Partner
Sea Trail Investments, which acquired the golf courses in question, also brought on a new partner – Sandesh Sharda – and created a Sea Trail Golf Resort Limited Liability Company. Sharda has recently acquired the Rivers Edge Golf Course in Shallotte, and is currently in the process of purchasing The International Club of Myrtle Beach.
The Sharda partnership includes the golf operations, the convention center, future hotel and resort amenities, and the rental program.

Hotel is part of the plans for Sea Trail Community
On the 15 acres of land next to the convention centre, a 150-room resort style hotel will be built. The tract will also include a modern driving range with top-notch tracer technology and a practice facility.
East Coast Golf Management was hired to manage golf courses.
According to a news release, Murrells Inlet-based company will manage “all aspects” of golf course operations including food and beverages, and will play a key role in managing the convention centre. East Coast has received a budget from the new golf course owners to hire more staff and buy new equipment.

Sea Trail Golf Resort will invest millions of dollars in updating and improving the golf courses, facilities and clubhouses. This includes a complete renovation. The Jones Byrd Clubhouse is expected to be finished by March 2024.
