Tiger Woods’ ex-girlfriend drops her $30 million lawsuit according to reports

Jul, 2023

According to court documents obtained from the New York Post, Tiger Woods’ ex-girlfriend Erica Herman has dropped her $30 million lawsuit filed against Woods’ estate.

Erica Herman’s attorney filed a dismissal motion on June 29,. This is pending Herman’s appeal against a judge’s ruling that Herman must adhere to a nondisclosure contract she allegedly entered into with Woods in 2017.

The filing stated that in accordance with Post, “The Plaintiff, Erica Herman by and through her counsel, hereby dismissed without prejudice her complaint, filed on October 26th, 2022, until the resolution of the Herman v. Woods appeal and determination as to whether her claims are arbitrable.”

The hearing was originally scheduled for August but has been cancelled.

Herman claimed in the public lawsuit that they had an oral agreement for her to remain at the residence until about five years. She claimed over $30 million in damages because she claimed she was locked out.

Herman’s lawyer argues that the NDA was invalid and required Woods to keep his private life confidential. In the disputed NDA, she was also required to settle any disputes between her and Woods in private arbitration proceedings rather than public court.

Herman, however, said that she didn’t sign it. She even cited the new federal laws which invalidate NDAs as well as forced arbitration agreements when sexual harassment or assault is involved.

She will most likely appeal the case and argue that the judge was incorrect, as it was never proven with evidence that the NDA was valid. Woods’ lawyer has denied Woods’ sexual harassment allegations, which stemmed when she worked at Woods restaurant in Florida.

Herman claimed in court documents that Woods had a sexual relationship when she worked for him. He then forced her sign an NDA or she would be fired.
