Tiger said that he got the shag balls mostly out of the ditch by other players hitting balls. “I would pick the trees to hit to on the right, and he would pick the trees to hit to on the left. Then we’d play the last three holes in the dark. It was game on. So it was: OK, you do your job, I do mine, and then we’ll go head-tohead.
Tiger smiled wide when asked if he did the exact same thing with Charlie, his 13-year old son.
Tiger claimed Charlie had outdriven him, but he still managed to beat him last week. Last week, Charlie and Tiger teamed up again for the PNC Championship at Orlando’s Ritz-Carlton Golf Course. This story may be the best explanation of why Tiger would walk around a Silly Season golf course. The father and son, who were both affected by a bum ankle, finished T-8. They shot 65 on Sunday, with two bogeys. But the result was not significant. Although it’s a two-person scramble and a glorified exhibition, Tiger will not miss this event. Tiger was able to play only nine rounds of competitive golf on the PGA Tour this season, despite his hosting duties in The Bahamas and playing in The Match with Rory McIlroy and Charlie at the PNC in Orlando. Tiger revealed in his Hero press conference that more surgeries have been done this year. However, he wouldn’t reveal any details. Although his plantar fasciitis kept him from being able to walk on a golf course in the Bahamas for five days straight, he is able to get around with a cart. He demonstrated at The Match that he has the speed and distance to compete in the PGA Tour and outdrove Justin Thomas multiple times on Saturday.
Thomas stated that he wasn’t making fun of it when he said it yesterday. He’ll be with a driver for longer if he feels good. He might be able hit it further than me if I chase one, but he hits it more consistently than I am.
Tiger’s challenge is to be able to walk for four consecutive days. This hasn’t changed, and it will likely impact his ability to compete on the PGA Tour. Tiger turns 47 in December, and the Champions Tour and the possibility to use a cart seem like a match made for heaven in his 50s. Tiger was unable to play in his limited time this year and ran out of gas at times, especially at the PGA Championship where he pulled after the third round.
Thomas said, “Every day is different.” Thomas said, “It was clear that he was moving yesterday — I could see him hitting balls on the range, and you could tell that he was moving really well. Today, however, he wasn’t as fast. I’m sure he would trade 10 miles to be able walk every day and feel well. It’s impressive. It’s obvious that he is very strong and very fit right now. “It’s just about addressing the other issues.”
Padraig Harrington, Jim “Bones”, Mackay and others praised Tiger’s play. He will be able to play at Riviera’s Genesis Invitational in February. This is one of the most prestigious events, and where he also serves as tournament host. He could also get some practice in during the Florida Swing, which is just a few rounds away from the Masters.

Tiger answered that only time will tell. He said that he has come a long way since his accident in February 2021. Last year, I was injured and had to have back surgery the first year. This year, however, everything was fine. It was good to see that all the pieces were rearranged.
“Just, again, plantar fasciitis can be very painful. Now I get to really recover and heal, and move forward because there are so many positive things I’ve been physically able do, such as being able practice and hit the golf ball. But I haven’t been able get from point A, to point B. We’re going to work on that.
This starts with taking care of his feet. Tiger needs to rest, and then more rest.
He said, “We shut it down and take care about this foot so I can ramp up properly.” As you can see, I can hit golf balls. All that is possible. You can practice at home. I can hit shots on the green. All that is possible. It’s just not possible for me to get from point A and point B.”
Point A could also be used to refer to Augusta. Tiger will be a better Tiger in 2023.
