Tiger Woods laments his foot problem that forced him to withdraw from Hero World Challenge. “I just kept making things worse,” he said.

NASSAU (Bahamas) — Tiger Woods was quick to crack a joke when asked if he could identify all 206 bones in his body.

He said, “I know the ones that hurt OK?” and broke into a smile.

Woods, 46, posted his latest condition in a tweet Monday. He cited plantar faciitis in his right heel as the reason that he would not be able to compete at this week’s Hero World Challenge. His foundation is also the primary beneficiary.

“It was hard because I wanted to play. He explained that he enjoys playing and competing but couldn’t walk. “I have had some setbacks throughout the year, but I was still able to play through this one. Only time will heal this. I need to get off my feet so that I can continue receiving treatment.

Woods’ foot pain worsened the more he practiced before the tournament.

Woods stated, “The worst thing that you can do is to walk.” “So, had to close it down and unfortunately, be host of the event. Ranger Rick is out here.”

Woods mentioned that he had undergone two additional surgeries this year. However, when Woods was asked for more information, such as the purpose of the surgeries and when they occurred, he declined and said that they only happened this year. Woods confirmed that he was unwell during the British Open, but that he had never tested positive for COVID-19. He confirmed that plantar fasciitis was related to other injuries to his foot he sustained in a single-car accident in February 2021.

Woods stated that he would need to rest for a few months to allow his foot to heal properly.

He said, “It was the speeding up that did it.” It’s a delicate balance, right? It’s a balancing act. You push it hard enough to make progress, but not too hard to push it over the edge. That sets you back two, three days. This has been the balance all year. You should be prepared for this event. I tried to replicate the sand here by doing a lot of beach walks, but my foot didn’t like it very much.

Woods participated in three majors this year – the Masters, where he was T-47; the PGA Championship where he withdrew after round three; and the British Open where he fell short of his expectations. He said he felt he had exceeded his expectations to play in The Match at St. Andrews, Scotland, “the Home of Golf” possibly for the last time. Woods is confident that he will be able to play in The Match , a 12-hole tournament scheduled for December 10, where Woods and Rory McIlroy will face Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth. The PNC Championship, a two person team event, will also be played with his son Charlie.

This will be a difficult week. Woods stated that the Father-Son will be an easy week. Charlie will hit all the shots, and I’ll just make the putts. “But apart from that, in “The Match”, we’re flying in carts.

Woods reiterated that he will not request a cart at a sanctioned PGA Tour tournament. He also noted that the PNC Championship where he has used a cart before is sanctioned under the rules of PGA Tour Champions.

Woods stated that his 2023 plans were at best limited.

“The goal is not to win more than the major championships. That’s it. He said, “I mean, that’s — physically I can only do that.” “I don’t have much left in the leg, so get ready for the biggest ones, and hopefully lightning catches in one bottle and I’m up there with a chance of winning and hopefully I can remember how to do it.”
