Tiger Woods didn’t do much to dispel rumors about his long-term relationship with Nike coming to an end.

Woods, when asked about his relationship with the brand, said: “I still wear their product.”

The 15-time major winner took to Twitter on Monday to thank Phil Knight, the founder of Nike and announce the end to his 27-year association with the company.

“I was lucky to begin a partnership over 27 years ago with one of the world’s most iconic brands. Woods wrote, “The days since then have been filled so many incredible moments and memories that if I began to name them, I would go on for ever.” “Phil Knight brought together this Nike Golf and Nike partnership with his passion and vision. I would like to thank him personally, as well as the Nike employees and athletes that I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with. The question will be asked if there’s a next chapter. There will be another chapter. “See you in LA!”

More: Tiger Woods golf equipment over the years

Woods will host the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, Pacific Palisades in California, west Los Angeles, from February 15-18. Woods, who has won 82 times on the Tour, previously stated that he would like to play only one tournament a month.

Woods, who was just 20 when he became a pro golfer in 1996, has been the brand ambassador of Nike ever since. Knight signed Woods a deal worth $40 million over five years when he became a pro after winning the U.S. Open for the third time in a row. Woods was then an Amateur and Knight said at the time that the world had never seen anything as impressive as what Woods would do for golf. It’s almost like art. “I wasn’t around to watch Claude Monet create, but I was there to watch Tiger play. That’s pretty awesome.”

Nike Golf apparel and spikeless shoes became popular thanks to Woods. The equipment division never really took off, and it stopped making clubs and golf balls in 2016. Woods has used TaylorMade golf clubs and Bridgestone balls for the past few years. FootJoy has been his golf shoe of choice for almost two years. TaylorMade’s website has revealed that the company, which was formerly owned by Adidas and is now under TaylorMade ownership, plans to increase its apparel involvement starting next year.

Many of the club endorsers, from Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, wear Nike Golf apparel when they play. Jason Day, however, no longer does as he began the year with new Malbon gear.
