Tom Kim hires a new caddie; Cameron Young will have a new bagman, while Paul Tesori is headed to an experienced pro

Dec, 2023

It’s time to have fun, and for professional golfers it’s also the perfect season to change their golf equipment and caddies.

This story is about the caddie carousel. Ludvig Aberg, No. hired Joe Skovron from Tom Kim a few months ago, bringing the party to a new level.

Joe’s experience speaks for itself, so I believe that is what I am looking for. It’s hard to make mistakes when you’re playing a U.S. Open and winning with 6 under. I think this is what influenced my decision.

Golfweek learned that Kim hired a replacement. He chose Daniel Parratt who was a caddie for Kim’s International Team Presidents Cup Teammate K.H. Lee.

Kim is currently ranked No. Skovron, who is ranked No. 11 in the World, has won the Shriners Children’s Hospital Open two times with Skovron as his bag. He was also the favorite for the 2022 Presidents Cup. Kim’s agent refused to confirm the change.

Cameron Young, who starts his season at The Sentry on Maui, will also have a brand new caddie.

Paul Tesori, longtime caddie for Webb Simpson, confirmed to Golfweek he is now working with veteran pro Brendon Tod. Todd is a three-time Tour champion who just finished in the top 50 in the FedEx Cup. He is also booked to play eight signature events by 2024. Tesori spent over 12 years as a caddie for Webb Simpson. He joined Young, one of the most promising young players in Tour, and was ranked No. In March, at the WGC Dell Match Play, Tesori ranked No. 21 in the World.

Tesori has chosen to stick with Clark, despite the fact that he has a back problem. Clark, Todd’s caddie, is moving to LIV, where he will work for Ian Poulter. Tesori has decided to choose the veteran, rather than a rising star, who had been on the brink of winning for some time. Uncertain who will be Young’s caddie next season. A request for comment via email has not been answered at this time. The new season is set to begin on January 4, so we won’t have long before we know.
