Tom Kim sustained an injury at the 2023 Open Championship after he stepped from a patio of his rental home , resulting in a Grade-1 tear in his left ankle.
Kim, despite not being at 100 percent, finished in second place thanks to rounds of 72-72-67 on the final three day.
Kim, however, has pulled out of the 2023 Wyndham championship at Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro in North Carolina, due to an ankle injury.
The 21-year old won this event in his first victory for the PGA Tour. Two months later, his second and most recent win was at The Shriners Children’s Open.
Kim is hoping that a few days on the sidelines, before the FedEx St. Jude Championship playoffs begin in Memphis in two weeks, will improve his chances of making it to East Lake. Kim is currently 14th on the FedEx Cup rankings and would therefore be eligible for the Tour Championship.
