Tom Kim wins the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas.

Oct, 2023

Tom Kim missed the chance to defend his Wyndham Championship title earlier this year due to an ankle injury that he sustained the week before the 151st Open Championship held at Royal Liverpool.

Kim expressed his frustration with this last week. He talked about how it was important to put on a show in his first title defence this week. Kim was amazing, especially over the weekend.

Kim won the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas, on Sunday, despite the fact that it was not as flawless. The 21-year old South Korean shot a 5-under 66 to win his third PGA Tour title.

Kim, who was 20 at the time, won his second tournament in two months with no bogeys. He had seven bogeys, a double and 27 birdies, and finished at 20-under-264. In the third round he shot 62, which was the same score as in 2022.

Adam Hadwin finished solo second after hitting a birdie on the last hole. He played with Kim in the final pair. The group at T-3 was 18 under par, and included Eric Cole, the Rookie of Year candidate, who shot a 9-under 62 Sunday. Alex Noren, J.T. Poston and Taylor Pendrith finished two places behind Kim.

Ludvig Aberg from Sweden, who is a young sensation, finished the final round with an identical 9-under score to Cole’s. He ended up at 16 under par and T-13.
