The field for the final official PGA Tour event in 2022 is made up of fan-favorite players.
This week, the RSM Classic will be held at the Sea Island Resort on St. Simons Island in Georgia. Tony Finau, the highest-ranked player in this field, will be returning to Sea Island for his first appearance since 2014. He is part of a short list that includes Brian Harman and Sepp Straka as well as Tom Hoge and Kevin Kisner. Seamus Power is also back at Sea Island. Finau will be in , fresh from his victory in Houston. Finau is also the last golfer in history to win consecutive events on PGA Tour. He did so last summer.
Kisner (2015), Robert Streb (2014 and 2020), Chris Kirk (2013). Mackenzie Hughes (2016). Austin Cook (2017). Tyler Duncan (2019). Davis Love III, a Sea Island resident, will be the tournament host. He highlights a few major champions in this field which includes Zach Johnson, Francesco Molinari and Justin Rose, as well as Stewart Cink and Jason Day.
Talor Gooch, last year’s RSM champion, has moved to LIV Golf, and will not be defending his title. Charles Howell III (2018 RSM champion) has also moved on to LIV Golf.
The RSM Classic is the perfect event for bonus golf fans. Four of the six previous editions have been in a playoff, with three events each from 2018-2018. Fans will be clamoring to see a playoff, as this week’s Tour stop is in Georgia. It will be the last of 2022 before the Sentry Tournament of Champions Jan. 5-8 in Hawaii.
Tiger Woods will host and play in the 2022 Hero World Challenge. This unofficial event will take place in the Bahamas, December 1-4. The QBE Shootout returns to Naples (Fla.) Dec. 9-11, with Greg Norman as the CEO and Commissioner of LIV Golf.
