Sean Toulon returns to his roots, which he first established in 2015 when he founded Toulon Design. He has expanded on the original vision of premium milled puttingters with the Toulon Golf.
Toulon, who retired as the Senior Vice President of Callaway and GM at Odyssey in July, will use Callaway’s manufacturing and efficiency to create a hybrid of “the best of both worlds”.
Budget and material constraints will be pushed aside in favor of unique products. (Not just putters!) Toulon has told GolfWRX that the Toulon brand is of the highest possible quality and seamlessly combines art and science. Toulon’s new offerings will feature small batches and processes that are not typical. This was confirmed by the industry veteran. For example, the company will use paints that are only used in Italian hypercars or aerospace construction methods.
The company is keeping the larger plans under wraps, but GolfWRX has learned that the company will release a limited number of “Small Batches” over the course of the year. This includes the Small Batch Dogwood Putter, which can be purchased today on the Toulon Golf Website.
Small Batch Dogwood
Toulon, along with his team of designers, also focused on sound and feel when creating what they call “the quintessential knife putter.”
The Small Batch Dogwood watch is made from stainless steel 904L, the same metal used by Rolex to craft its watches.
Toulon says that the milling process takes a long time and is difficult. It also requires special tools. However, it’s worth it for the unique polish it gives.
The traditional pintail putter design features a double-shelf rear flange to complement the heel-totoe arc. Toulon chose to make the second step “a little bit more aggressive” and widen the body slightly.
Hand polishing the Midnight Brilliant Black finishes off this hours-long, slow machining process. This gives it a unique depth of luster.
Toulon finishes the design with a Super Fine Double Fly Face Mill, which is precisely tuned to sound and feel. It also features a gentle flowneck and intricate sole engraving.

Toulon Golf: More Information
Sean Toulon’s son Tony, who left Odyssey Golf to join Toulon Design, will also be joining the venture. Toru Kamatari is an entrepreneur who has assisted multiple golf brands in entering Asian markets.
The company will collaborate with Callaway beginning in 2024, beyond the Small Batch releases mentioned above.
