Although the defending champions put up an impressive fight, it was not enough to stop the Singhs.
Vijay Singh, a three-time major champion, and his son, Qass finished strong on Sunday to win the 2022 PNC Championship at Ritz-Carlton Golf Course in Orlando. Singh and Qass made birdies on seven of the first seven holes, adding two more on Nos. 12, 13 and 14 were the last two holes, before the par-5 14th tied for the lead at 24 over. The Singhs held a solo lead of 25 under with a birdie on 16th, and a second on 18th to give them a lead of 26 under. To become the first PNC team to shoot two rounds under 60, the Singhs shot 59-59.
In the past, the father-son team has come close at silly-season hit and-giggle. They finished runner-up in 2006 (2013), 2013, and 2020.
John Daly and John II, his son, won in 2021. They finished second at 24 below.
