SCOTTSDALE (Ariz.) — Emilia Migliaccio’s Wake Forest women’s team won their match against USC Cindy Kou after winning the first hole.
Lauren Walsh won the third point and final one with a win of 3-and-2 over Brianna Návarrosa in the heat at Grayhawk Golf Club.
The Demons Deacons beat the Trojans 4-1 on Wednesday to win the 2023 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship. Only two matches reached the 17th green.
Wake Forest’s women’s team has won its first team title in the program’s history. The Deacons were led by two seniors and one graduate.
Rachel Kuehn won the first point with a score of 6 to 4 over Amari Avery, after Avery’s approach shot at the 14th par-4 hole went right and into desert. She conceded before she even reached the green.
Migliaccio was the next to take the lead, a graduate who had returned to Wake Forest after a year away, using her COVID. She birdied the Nos. The 14th and 15th holes were won by Kou 4-2 and the 16th hole was won by Migliaccio.

USC freshman Catherine Park won the Trojans lone point by beating Carolina Lopez-Chacarra 2 to 1.
Wake Forest has won 10 NCAA team titles in six sports.
