Watch: Former champion Corey Conner three-putts at four feet at Valero Texas Open

Mar, 2023

SAN ANTONIO — Corey Conners is a pro at the TPC San Antonio Oaks Course. His combined score of 35 under par for his four previous starts at the Valero Texas open shows this.

He also won his first PGA Tour title in 2019 here, beating Charley Hoffman by two strokes to take home a $1.35M payday.

Conners is still a novice at golf, so despite his successes with the Greg Norman design, Conners looked like a rookie when he played the par-3 16th green during Friday’s second round.

Conners putted four-putt from 55 feet on the short holes, and needed three putts on the last four feet to reach home.

Conners, despite the double bogey was still in the thick, and sat just behind Patrick Rodgers for much of the afternoon.

Conners has had a great season so far, with six top-25 finishes in ten starts. Conners is already at Augusta National next Wednesday, so he doesn’t feel the same pressure as he did when he won in 2019. This was the last Monday qualifying event to win on Tour.
