Michael Sweeney has had a busy week.
He holed out from a bunker on Monday for an eagle to earn a place in a playoff at the HomeTown Lenders Championship of the Korn Ferry Tour. He advanced in the playoff with a par at the second hole. This was his first KFT appearance at The Ledges, Huntsville, Alabama.
Sweeney raps and lives in his car. He pinches each penny in order to fight his way onto the PGA Tour.
The story just gets better.
The first round was delayed on Thursday due to fog. His first start then had to be postponed by an additional day. He wasted no time in making his mark at the tournament on Friday. He aced his par-3 13th, which was 230 yards long, on his fourth hole.
Michael Sweeney is the winner of Monday’s qualifier!
No. 13, 4 iron, 230 yards. 3-under through 4.
