It is hard to begin a PGA Tour event like Viktor Hovland did at Bay Hill Club & Lodge.
Hovland missed his first tee shot by 310 yards. It just sailed through the fairway at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Orlando’s par-4 10. His second shot was the best.
Hovland held a wedge in one hand and fired at the pin from approximately 97 yards away. Hovland’s ball came in just short of the hole. He took a few steps forward to check just past the flag before spinning back into his cup.
No putter necessary. A card with a big bird early.

Hovland was ranked 11th worldwide and won the Hero World Challenge in The Bahamas in December. Although he hasn’t won on Tour in the United States, his strong start may change that.
