North Butte: Try a special wedge (or a different one) and see how it performs. After playing a few dozen rounds with the wedge, you will begin to see if it has an advantage. They use those wedges because they believe it works best for them. You should also play the best club for you. The best club for you may not be the same as another .” -
Jc0: “If we look closely, you’ll see that most pros with a special 46/48 wedge often use cavity backs. A speciality wedge is more like a blade to give you more control and allow you to play more shots than the set’s PW. Pros usually use the same blade to play blades.

PureStrikes54 says: “Flighting shots lower, getting more spin for stopping power, and to hit it shorter and minimize the chance of hitting flier Moon balls that you sometimes can get with players cavity irons. Players at this level don’t want to pitch their pitching wedge for more than 150 yards. The wedge is a scoring club. It is used almost exclusively to hit knockdowns to tweener yards span>
