John Daly finished fifth at the 2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship with a score of 71-76. Although there were still some golfers playing the second round, Daly’s score would have been good enough for last place.

Kim Swan, 65 years old, is a sponsor invitee.

Swan is from Bermuda and played college golf at Troy where the Trojans placed fourth in the 1979 NCAA Division II National Championship. Later, he played professionally for two more years on the then-European Tour. He was the Port Royal Golf Course’s teaching pro until last year. He gave free lessons often.

Swan stated that this special opportunity came as I celebrated my 65th birthday at Port Royal golf Course. He also serves as the chairman of the Board of Trustees as the course enters its 53r year of operation as a public-golf course.

Swan was honored to play the honorary tee in celebration of the inaugural Bermuda Championship, which was the first official PGA Tour event.

Swan was invited by 12 sponsors this week. He had five bogeys on his first round, four double bogeys, and a nine on the par-4 12th. This resulted in an 89. He scored an 81, with eight more shots.

Ben Crane is the alternate, but was later invited to sponsor the event. He now holds the clubhouse lead after posting a 9-under score of 62.
