Sargent is the top amateur in the World and will begin his junior year at Vanderbilt this fall. He currently has 16 points on the PGA Tour University accelerated standings. Sargent has gained two points in this week. One for starting the U.S. Open Los Angeles Country Club, and the other Friday after making the Cut, bringing him closer to the threshold of 20 points.

Sargent will be eligible for PGA Tour membership if he reaches 20 points before the end of his Junior year. There’s a possibility he can do this before he officially hits a shot for the Commodores in the fall.

Sargent is tied for 30th place after two rounds at the U.S. Open. He has a score of 140, which is even par. Two more points would be earned if he placed in the top 20 on Sunday. Sargent is only two points from earning the two points he needs to represent the United States in the 2023 Walker Cup.

PGA Tour U was designed to allow high-achieving juniors and sophomores the opportunity to earn PGA Tour memberships. They are now eligible for any open full-field Tour event. Ludvig berg was the first golfer in the world to receive a PGA Tour membership through PGA Tour U. He made his professional debut at the RBC Canadian Open last week.

Sargent, 2022’s NCAA Individual Champion, is on his way to being the first person to receive a Tour Card because of Accelerated.

He could still earn the four remaining points in a variety of ways, even if he did not finish in the top twenty this weekend. He is almost certain to be selected for the Walker Cup, which leaves him with two points to qualify for PGA Tour membership.

He could earn points for the U.S. at the World Amateur Team Championship 2023, which will be held in Abu Dhabi from 18-21 October. He was part of the team in France last year. Three points are also available at the U.S. There are also three points available at the U.S. If he starts in another major that is also one point. Another point is if he makes the cut at a major event or PGA Tour.

He’ll be playing in the Rocket Mortgage Classic, which will take place in Detroit in two weeks. This means he can get two points if he makes the cut or finishes in the top 10.

Sargent is unlikely to reach 20 points by the end of his junior year. It’s still a big week for Sargent, who is chasing a PGA Tour Card.
