Will McGee, son of Annika Sorenstam, steals the show at PNC Championship on Sunday

Dec, 2023

Will McGee, who won a lot of hearts at the PNC Championship despite Tiger Woods’ son Charlie dominating the headlines, is back in Orlando. The 12-year-old said to his mother Annika Sorenstam as he walked down the 18th Fairway, “Slow Down, Mommy. I don’t Want This Moment to End.”

McGee is the most enthusiastic supporter of the PNC. He lowered his cap to the crowd at the 18th hole after hitting an amazing bunker shot. He had gotten it thin on Saturday at the last hole and wanted to get revenge.

McGee cried a lot on the final hole. McGee replied, “Probably because it will be a year before I can do this again.”

McGee, along with his Hall of Fame mother, shot 67 to share 11th place in the event for 20 teams. The pair will share $43,750 of the prize fund.

McGee, who began the week by ace-ing a practice round at Ritz Carlton Golf Club along with his father on Monday, then sank a long eagle putting during Saturday’s opening round.

McGee, a golf enthusiast, was thrilled to have talked to Tiger Woods a few times and noted that he is “super nice”. Justin Thomas also offered advice on how to play in windy conditions. The wind gusted to over 30 mph on Sunday during the final round.

McGee, who was the youngest on the field, said: “He always tells me that I need to weight more.” “He put some golfballs in my pocket to make sure I didn’t fly off.”

It doesn’t get any more healthy than that.
