With 18 holes left, the leaderboard is still stacked with Talor Gooch, Sergio Garcia and others.

In the first two seasons of the LIV Golf League, there have been many big names that have won trophies, such as Dustin Johnson and Brooke Koepka. There has never been a better leaderboard than the one in Singapore, with 18 holes to go.

Sentosa Golf Club provided great entertainment during the two rounds of LIV Golf Singapore. Talor Gooch and Sergio Garcia, last week’s winners in Adelaide, are tied for first place at 13 under. Brooks Koepka is one shot behind. He’s the only LIV winner who has won twice. Cameron Smith is at 11 under par and Phil Mickelson at 10 under, both of whom were in the lead at one point during the second round following a hole-out birdie.

Garcia commented on the crowded leaderboard, “It just shows the quality of the players.” On a day with little wind, the course was manageable. The ball was picked up easily on the fairway. This makes the game easier.

The wet conditions on the course meant that preferred lies were used during the second round. Garcia, Gooch, and others benefited.

Garcia shot a 7-under-par 64 without a single bogey to tie for the lead. Since moving to LIV Golf, his best finishes are two fourths in Jeddah last season and one in Chicago.

Gooch hopes to become the first winner of back-to-back events, joining Koepka. He signed for 6-under-65 with seven birdies, one bogey and no bogey.

Gooch stated, “Sergio had a lot of fun with me and Cam. “Our group performed really well, and we fed off each other all day.” Cam started off, I followed in the middle and Sergio finished the job on the back.

Gooch has been 32 below in his last five rounds.

Koepka, who shot 65 on his second consecutive day, is now a shot back and has earned a tee-time in the final group for Sunday. Mickelson shot 5 under through 5 holes, and ended his day with 5 under. He is still alone in seventh place. Scott Vincent, Cameron Tringale and Smith are all tied for fourth place at 11 under. Smith is also finding his form following a slow start this season.

The second round of the tournament will be broadcast on CW Saturday from 1-6 p.m. The final round begins at 8 pm. ET Saturday evening in the United States. The final round of the tournament will be broadcast on tape-delayed Sunday.
