Xander Schauffele began the 2023 American Express final round eight shots behind co-leaders Jon Rahm, Davis Thompson, but couldn’t get much going on Sunday.
Schauffele was able to score par on his four first holes, before he took the green on the par-5 5, but that’s when he did some magic.
After driving his ball 314 yard, Schauffele faced a difficult second shot over a lake to reach the green. Schauffele’s ball was only 225 yards away, but it barely cleared the water. It landed softly, and then began tracking towards the hole.
It was then rolled into the cup, like a putt for an Albatross 2 on par 5.

He was able to get into the top 10 at 18 over with his three-shot swing.
This is the first albatross in the PGA Tour’s history since Stephan Jaeger achieved the feat in round four of the 2022 John Deere classic.
