In case you forgot, Y.E. Yang defeated Tiger Woods in the 2009 PGA Championships at Hazeltine, with arguably the world’s most famous hybrid shot. Yang, who held a one-stroke lead on the 72nd, hit a dagger shot using a TaylorMade TP Rescue 21 degree hybrid to six feet, trying to hold off a player who never lost.
Yang carried two TaylorMade Rescue TP Hybrids (19 and 21 degrees) that week, which is exactly one hybrid less than he will have in his bag for the 2023 PGA Championship.
This week, as a former PGA Champion and current PGA Tour Champions member, the 51-year old is going to tee off with a bag fit for The Hybrid king.
The electric green-and-white standbag features three Ping G430 Hybrids, each with Graphite Design Tour AD-DI 115 ‘SX’ Hybrid shafts.
The SX flex, a rare product that sits in between the S-flexes and X-flexes.
His longest iron is a Ping i230 6iron. According to his caddie, he put it back in the bag recently to replace his fourth Hybrid.

Yang also has a custom Scotty Cameron GSS T2 putter, which is one of a kind (see the video above), as well as throwback prototype Titleist Vokey wedges with “Yangsta’ on the back cavity.
He also uses club tubes in the slots of his standbag to protect his grips.
This is the kind of golf equipment that everyone can appreciate, whether they are gearheads, casual golfers, or both.
The Hybrid king unites us.
GolfWRX.com inspected his setup in detail on Wednesday, just before the PGA Championship.
