Florida-based company buys another golf course to bring total up to nine

The Florida company that bought three golf courses in the state’s West Coast in the spring has done it again. This time, they have purchased a country club located in Sarasota.

According to an article from our network’s partner, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Coral Investment Group and its partner ITG Group bought Misty Creek Country Club at a price that was not disclosed. This brings the total number of golf course owned by Coral to nine. Coral’s hospitality portfolio manages 13 courses in total.

Lee Weeks said, in a press release, that Coral Hospitality’s chief operating officer, Lee Weeks, has a strategy to grow the golf business along I-75 between Naples and Tampa. “Of Course, if there are other opportunities, we’ll consider them as well.”

Coral Investment Group announced in April that it had acquired Calusa Lakes Golf Club as well as Waterford Golf Club and Capri Isles Golf Club located in the Venice area.

Coral is known for its expertise in hotel and resort management. Other golf properties owned by Coral include Arrowhead Golf Club and Eagle Ridge Golf Club.

According to the company, Misty Creek Country Club in Southwest Florida is the only course “entirely within a 350-acre wilderness preserve.”

The course, designed by Ted McAnlis and open to all, offers different levels of membership.
