The Bobby Jones Golf Club in Sarasota will hold a grand opening celebration from 9 am to 12 pm on December 15, with first tee time the following day.
Online reservations can be made starting Dec. 2 by visiting bobbyjonesgolfclub.com, according to the city news release.
Residents of the city will also get a 40% discount on the 18-hole Donald Ross designed course, instead of the 10% discount that was discussed by the City Commission in October when officials decided the prices for the facilities.
After Indigo Sports, LLC presented its fee schedule in October, the private company which will manage Bobby Jones’ facilities, city staff asked Indigo to “review the fee schedule and provide a greater discount for residents.”
Jan Thornburg is the general manager of communications for the city. She said: “We are pleased to announce that residents of the City will receive a discount of 40% on the Donald Ross Course.”
This fee schedule will introduce dynamic pricing at Bobby Jones.
The updated fee schedule for the Bobby Jones Golf Course, which will soon be open to the public. The facility is set to open on December 16. The 18-hole golf course will be open to the public on Dec. 16.
According to the schedule of fees, golfers can play after 2 pm and receive steep discounts. The cost of a round at Bobby Jones Golf Club will be significantly reduced if you choose to walk the course rather than use a golf course.
Prices will go up from Dec. 22 to March 31. The least expensive round is $84 while the most expensive costs $124.
A city resident can play golf at a low cost of $37 if they have a tee-off after 2 pm and walk to the course rather than drive.
Residents of the city will receive a 40% discount on the lowest rate available at the time of purchase.
Sarasota has reduced the number holes on the golf course from 45 to 27, and converted some of the land into a natural park. The complex will include an 18-hole golf course, a nine-hole short-course and a training facility.
Richard Mandell is the architect of the project. Construction began in February 2022.
